Vincenzo Cursio (born 14 October 1968) is an Italian journalist and human rights activist. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. He has collaborated with world leaders such as Mikhail Gorbachev and Betty Williams, and is currently a spokesman for the Gorbachev Foundation in charge of institutional relations at World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. ==Career== In the late 1980s, Cursio was one of the leaders of the Italian Socialist Youth Movement. In 1994 he joined the Federazione Laburista, the Italian political movement chaired by the Liberal-Socialism leader Valdo Spini During the Ciampi administration, Cursio held government positions in the Ministry of Environment, Urban Areas, EU Policies. From 1996 to 2000, he worked in the Defense Committee of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. During the second Prodi administration, Cursio held the position of Head of Press Office of the Minister of Youth and sports activities. In 2008 he founded the NGO "Africa Must Unite" chaired by Ghana's leader Samia Nkrumah〔(【引用サイトリンク】 Africa Must Unite NGO )〕 In recent years, Cursio has been a leader of "The Movement for the Referendum" led by Mario Segni, aiming to reform Italian electoral law.
